What Waived is

Waived is a self-help document-preparation service operated by Lumaneta Inc. (“Lumaneta,” “we,” “us”). We help you draft letters — fee waiver requests, financial aid appeals, security deposit demand letters, parking ticket appeals — based on facts you provide.

Waived is not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, and using Waived does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Waived, Lumaneta, or anyone associated with either. Nothing on this site or in a letter we prepare should be treated as legal advice for your specific situation. If your matter is legally complex or high-stakes, consult a licensed attorney in your state.

You review and send it yourself

We prepare a draft letter based on the information you give us. Before you send anything, you are responsible for reading it, confirming every fact is accurate, and deciding whether to submit it. Waived does not file, submit, mail, or otherwise transmit documents on your behalf, and we never act as your agent or representative in dealing with a school, landlord, or any other party.

Because the letter is only as accurate as the information you provide, please make sure your facts are truthful and complete. Do not use Waived to submit false or misleading statements to a school, landlord, court, or any other institution.

No guaranteed outcome

We cannot and do not guarantee that a fee will be waived, an appeal will be granted, a deposit will be returned, or a citation will be dismissed or reduced. Every decision is made by the school, landlord, or agency you submit your letter to, based on their own policies and discretion. Waived's job is to help you make your case clearly — the outcome is theirs to decide.

Who this is for

Waived is intended for your own genuine dispute or request — the facts you enter should be true and about your own situation. Don't use Waived to prepare letters for someone else's case without their knowledge, or to misrepresent a dispute that isn't genuine.

Refunds

If you pay for a letter and we fail to deliver it to you, you are entitled to a full refund. Email support@waived.app and we'll take care of it. Because the letter itself is the product — not the outcome of submitting it — we don't offer refunds based on how a school, landlord, or agency ultimately responds to a letter that was delivered to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Waived and Lumaneta's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the letter giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including a fee not being waived, an appeal being denied, or a deposit not being returned.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the “last updated” date above.
